Villa Serena Takes Part in a New York Benefit Event for Children in Need
Hotel Villa Serena collaborated with the Celia Cruz Foundation to support the 2nd Annual Fundraiser for The DREAM Project, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit serving the educational needs of over 4,000 children and youth born into poverty along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic.
A five night stay at the hotel, located in the DR’s idyllic Las Galeras Bay, Samana, was one of the most sought after prizes at a silent auction entitled “Sueños 2013: The DREAM Project Benefit,” and held during the fundraiser.
The benefit took place at El Museo del Barrio, the leading Latino cultural institution in New York City, in order to highlight the rich history and culture shared by all Latinos. Guests of honor included Sully Bonelly, Creative director for Isaac Mizrahi, Red Bull Pro Skater Luis Tolentino and Omer Pardillo Cid, President of The Celia Cruz Foundation and two-time Grammy Award winner.
Villa Serena’s participation in the event is a result of its interest in supporting quality initiatives contributing to the social and democratic development of the Dominican Republic.
